A long overdue recap of AAMP snacks, AAMP events, and announcements to remember!

Welcome to the second newsletter of the semester! We’re so excited to show everyone what AAMP has been doing for the past couple of weeks and tell y’all about some events to look forward to.

Event Recaps

AAMP Snack - fried rice bar

Bella, Vivien, Muriel, and Phyllis hosted a fried rice bar for AAMP Snack on 11/1! It was great to see everyone there. We hope you will be with us for the third AAMP Snack of the semester with Ally, Josh, David, and Ru during the week of 11/13th.

AAMP Snack - rice balls and tteokbokki

Ru, David, Josh, and Ally AAMP Snack on 11/18, served rice balls and tteokbokki! It was great to see everyone there. We hope you will be with us for the fourth AAMP Snack of the semester with Hanah, Emrys, Amara, and Zheous on December 1st. Check our Instagram @aamp.pomona for more details coming soon!!

Intergen Dinner - 11/3

On November third, current and past AAMP members gathered in the Blue Room in Frank for Revenge of the Karaoke! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and updates on the next Intergen dinner coming soon! Special thank you to the Pomona dining hall workers for all that they do for us.

QTPOC mixer - 11/10

The QRC (Queer Resource Center) hosted a QTPOC community mixer on Thursday, November 10th from 6:30-8:00 pm. Snacks and boba from 85C were provided, along with art supplies and other fun activities!

Untold Stories - 11/20

AAMP’s annual student-centered art exhibition welcomed all narratives and mediums! Thank you all for showing up and we’d like to give a special shoutout to those who submitted their work. 

Wilderness Hike - 11/12

OTL and AAMP’s HEAL.C💖MM committee hosted a 5C APIDA hike at Claremont Hills Wilderness Trail on Sunday, November 12th from 7:30 am-12:30 pm. Past and current mentors hiked alongside mentees to enjoy kimbap in the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park! Stay tuned for more events from HEAL.COMM. 

STEP - Saturday Tongan Education Program

STEP wrapped up its last meeting on November 19th with tutoring and an ohtai-making demonstration from Asena Taione-Filihia! STEP will be back in the spring semester and welcomes any folks who may want to join as tutors! For more information, please reach out to AAMP mentor Muriel Alejandrino (PO 2025).

AAMPburgers Friendsgiving - 11/21

AAMP’s Friendsgiving meal featured burgers and pie in the Harwood courtyard. We were happy to see different generations of AAMP mentors and mentees there to share a meal together!

Hot Cocoa and Study Night

Heal.com is doing a study session with hot chocolate on 12/8 from 3 pm - 5 pm!
